Prescription Medication
The sale of veterinary medicines is closely regulated and our veterinary medicine partner operates in-line with UK and EU regulations.
All the medicines for sale in 5M shops meet UK, EU, or other globally recognised legislative requirements which are clearly identified on the product datasheets, linked to from the product detail pages.
It is vital to understand it is the responsibility of the user to ensure that any veterinary medications are used in accordance with local legislation and that they are administered in a safe and responsible manner.
Purchasers should ensure that all product information provided in the product data sheet and on the packaging, or in any other manner, is read and understood before administration. Particular care should be taken to note any hazards to the operator, contra-indications and warnings on the packaging, etc. Those administering medicines to animals whose flesh or products is intended for human consumption should pay particular attention to withdrawal and withholding times and recording requirements.
In Europe, the veterinary medicine regulations require that certain medicines can only be supplied on prescription. All such medication is clearly marked. These regulations do not apply to overseas customers, however it remains vital that the correct local regulations are followed.
